新澳门六合彩开奖网抯 College of Aviation, Science, and Technology received an Aviation Workforce Development Grant of $496,016 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to help underrepresented populations enter the aviation workforce.

新澳门六合彩开奖网 was the only university in Illinois to receive the award. The aviation workforce development grants for aviation maintenance technical workers support proposals that generate and increase interest and prepare students to pursue aviation maintenance careers.

Through a collaboration with and , the Aviation Department at 新澳门六合彩开奖网 plans on administering the funds to attract, encourage, educate, guide, and increase the number of promising, yet underrepresented Illinois students in STEAM professions, including aviation over the next two years.

Dr. Christopher White, dean of the college; Dr. Ryan Phillips, chair of Aviation; and Chris Stevens, assistant professor, are leading the Project Supporting Opportunities in Aviation Resilience (SOAR) that serves to increase the number of underrepresented aviation maintenance professionals, such as women, first-generation and low-income students in the Chicago area.
