The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced its major award winners and all-conference teams Thursday (April 11). аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Íø sophomore libero  (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Preparatory School) and junior outside hitter  (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) were both named First Team All-MIVA.

"It's awesome for both Max and Nico to be recognized by the league and I'm extremely proud of them," head coach  said. "They both had tremendous seasons and really helped our team continue to compete at a high level. I also want to recognize the whole team as they continued to drive and push through the year. These postseason accolades would not have been possible without everyone making that push."

Paula earned three MIVA Defensive Player of the Week awards this season, the only player in the conference to win the award multiple times. The Tampa, Fla. native ranked fifth in the conference and No. 16 in the country with 2.10 digs per set, and his 218 total digs led the conference and ranked fourth in the NCAA.

Additionally, Paula posted a .931 serve receive percentage and had 22 assists while playing in 27 matches this season for the Flyers. Paula was the only libero named to the first team.

Roquet ascended to the first team honor after being named second team All-MIVA last season. The Johnston, Iowa native excelled in several areas, earning top-15 marks in the conference in kills per set at 3.60 (sixth, No. 21 in NCAA), attack percentage at .305 (No. 12, No. 33 in NCAA), blocks per set at 0.72 (No. 8), and digs per set at 1.63 (No. 11).

Roquet totaled 389 kills, 176 digs, 78 blocks, 26 assists, 16 service aces, and had the best serve receive percentage for аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Íø (min. 100 attempts) at .952 while playing in 28 matches this season, starting 27 of them.

Paula, Roquet and the Flyers are at Ohio State for the quarterfinal round of the MIVA Tournament this weekend. The first serve in Columbus on Saturday (April 13) will be at 4 p.m. CT (5 p.m. ET).
